Built for long-term joint protection
Water stops play a critical role in keeping concrete structures watertight. Installed within a construction or expansion joint, they form a continuous seal that blocks water from finding a path through the joint. Shakti PVC water stoppers are manufactured from high-grade, plasticised PVC resin extrusions, formulated for long-term resistance to ozone, oxygen, alkalis, and a broad range of waterborne chemicals — giving the structure a durable seal with a long service life.

Water & wastewater treatment plants
Dams, canals & water reservoirs
Pumping stations & underground chambers
Drainage and sewerage concrete structures (including sewerage treatment plants)
Choosing the right profile
Selection depends on the hydrostatic pressure involved, or on providing a safe passage against seepage water
Dumbbell-type profiles are used where the joint will undergo substantial expansion or contraction
Overall waterstop width should not exceed the thickness of the concrete section
The distance from the concrete face to the waterstop should be at least half the waterstop's width
Waterstop width should be at least 6 times the largest aggregate size, for proper compaction around it
How it's installed
- 01
STEP 01
One half of the waterstop is embedded in the first concrete pour, with the second half left extended.
- 02
STEP 02
The second half is embedded during the following pour, leaving the centre bulb free to allow for expansion and contraction.
- 03
STEP 03
Concrete must be poured carefully to avoid misaligning the waterstop during placement.
Also stock Shakti Expansion Joint Boards — fibre board impregnated with bituminous material (IS 1838), available in 12mm, 18mm and 25mm thickness, for runways, bridges, buildings and road construction joints.
Frequently asked questions
Which profile should I use?
Depends on your joint type — dumbbell profiles suit movement/expansion joints, while centre bulb or kicker profiles are typically used for construction joints. Share your joint drawing and we'll help confirm.
What widths are available?
150mm to 305mm across 8 standard codes — see the product range table above.
Is this different from your general PVC Water Stopper page?
This page covers our genuine Shakti-brand range specifically, with full technical specifications. Our general PVC Water Stopper page covers the wider category.
Do you supply in bulk?
Yes — bulk and contractor supply is available across Kochi, Ernakulam, Thrissur and surrounding project locations.
Can you help confirm the correct product?
Yes. Share your joint drawing, required width, quantity, and project location, and our team will help identify the right profile before quotation.
