- Enhances water and abrasion resistance
- Suitable for internal and external cementitious works
-
Dual-purpose product Use as a bonding slurry or as a mortar and plaster admixture
-
Mix guidance Application-based support for bond coat, mortar, plaster and screed
-
Project delivery Bulk and contractor supply across Kochi, Ernakulam and Thrissur
Typical specification
The mix ratio changes according to whether the product is used as a bond coat, repair mortar admixture, plaster modifier or waterproof screed component.
Liquid polymer supplied in sealed cans, pails or larger project packs.
Used in cement bonding slurries between prepared old and new concrete surfaces.
Added to repair mortar, plaster or screed to improve performance.
Improves the bond of cementitious materials to concrete and masonry substrates.
Helps reduce water penetration and improves resistance to surface wear.
Supports improved flexibility and helps reduce shrinkage-related cracking.
Remove laitance, loose material, oil, paint and grease before application.
Pack sizes depend on current stock, manufacturer and project requirement.
Mixing tip: A bonding slurry, repair mortar and waterproof screed do not use the same ratio. Share the application and approximate quantity before ordering.

Before you place an order
What is Core-shield SBR latex?
It is a modified styrene-butadiene rubber latex used with cement as a bonding agent and polymer admixture for mortar, plaster and screed.
Can it bond new concrete to old concrete?
Yes. It is commonly used in a cement bonding slurry applied to a properly prepared existing concrete surface before placing new concrete or mortar.
Can it be mixed directly into repair mortar?
Yes. It may be added through the gauging liquid of compatible cement-based repair mortar, subject to the recommended application ratio.
Does the same mix ratio work for every application?
No. Bond coat, plaster, repair mortar and screed applications require different proportions. Follow the product data sheet and application guidance.
How should the surface be prepared?
Remove loose concrete, laitance, paint, oil, grease and dust. The surface must be sound and prepared before applying the bond coat or mortar.
Can it improve waterproof plaster?
It improves adhesion and water resistance in compatible cement plaster, but the full waterproofing system must follow the project specification.
Can it be used in floor screeds?
Yes. It is commonly used in polymer-modified screeds to improve bond, flexibility, durability and resistance to surface wear.
Can it reduce cracking?
Polymer modification can help reduce shrinkage cracking and improve flexibility, but proper mix design, thickness, curing and joint detailing are still required.
Can you help calculate the required quantity?
Yes. Share the application, total area, thickness and approximate mortar quantity so the team can help estimate pack requirements.
Is bulk delivery available?
Bulk and contractor supply is available across Kochi, Ernakulam, Thrissur and surrounding project locations, subject to stock and delivery planning.
